How the keyword tool works

The tool reads Pinterest Trends data through the Pinterest API. For a region you choose, it lists keywords that are trending on Pinterest, with how much their search volume has grown compared with the previous week, month and year. You can filter the list by a word, for example "kitchen", to see trends in your niche. Results are cached for six hours.

Where to use keywords on Pinterest

• Pin titles. Put the main keyword first. Only the start of a long title is visible in the feed.
• Pin descriptions. Use two or three related phrases naturally, written as a sentence a person would read.
• Board names and descriptions. Boards are searchable too, so name them with the phrase your audience would type.
• Alt text. Describe the image plainly. It helps accessibility and gives Pinterest more context.

From keyword to finished pin

Pick a rising keyword, then give it to the AI writer or the assistant. It drafts three title and description options built around the topic, and you edit them before scheduling. The writer is designed to produce natural wording, not keyword stuffing.

You can check trends for the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, France, Brazil and Mexico, among others offered in the tool. Keyword trends differ by country, so check the region your audience is in.

Is it free?

The keyword tool is available on every plan, including Free. It needs your Pinterest account to be connected because the data comes from the Pinterest API.

A five-minute keyword workflow

1. Open Keywords, choose your region and type a word from your niche.
2. Note two or three rising phrases that genuinely match something you publish.
3. Open the AI writer and give it the phrase as the topic.
4. Pick the best of three options, edit it, and attach it to a pin.
5. Use the same phrase in a board name if you do not already have a board for it.

Limits to be aware of

• Trend data describes growth, so a fast-growing phrase can still be small.
• Not every phrase suits your content. Choose ones you can actually answer well.
• Trends differ by region. A rising phrase in the United States may not matter in another country.
